The Pintail Wildlife Drive

After the boardwalk, we went to the Pintail Wildlife Drive. This was a very interesting route.

The Pintail Wildlife drive is a three mile looping drive through a Cameron Parish wetland, where birds and alligators like to hunt and nest.

We saw many types of birds on this drive and even baby ducks! They had informational signs that informed us of species and precautions to take in each section. There is only one place you are allowed to get out of your vehicle and that is the single trail they have to offer. Despite our pleas to my mother and grandmother, we could not go on this trail because of how close it was to the water and all of the alligator signs.

The only (upside) downside to this drive was the biggest alligator we saw, which was not a baby, actually came towards the car! More posts to come
